Stephanie Dandurand, MS, LPC, NCC, CCTP-II, Clinic Director
I was born and raised in the Midwest where community was our extended family, which meant caring for and supporting everyone around us during their time of need and celebrating their successes and milestones. I fell in love with the mountains of Colorado at an early age during family vacations, so when the opportunity arose to move here in 2013, I enthusiastically accepted. My husband and I have three amazing children who have expanded our lives further with their wonderful significant others and a beautiful grandchild. We also have a highly active home with two dogs we adore. We enjoy spending time with family and friends, the outdoors, traveling, exploring Colorado, and an occasional movie.
I received by Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Iowa followed by Master of Science in Criminal Justice with an emphasis in Public Administration and Counseling and a Master of Science in Community Counseling from the University of Nebraska – Omaha. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with clinical experience working with individuals of all ages and have worked in intensive family preservation, adult day treatment, outpatient services, and corrections. I have experience working with individuals with depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, life transitions and relationship challenges, severe and persistent mental illness, and co-occurring disorders. I have a passion for working with individuals who are struggling with grief and those impacted by traumatic experiences.
At times, transitions and challenges in life can become overwhelming and, for some, debilitating. It takes bravery and strength to ask for help with your well-being. The journey toward positive change varies for everyone therefore it is important to find the individualized path that works best for you. Authentically meeting you where you are in life, listening to where you want to be, and working collaboratively with you to focus on your healing and personal growth to find your best self is my commitment to your journey. One of my favorite quotes carrying great significance for today’s heavy burdens is one by the writer Charlie Mackesy from his book ‘The boy, the mole, the fox, and the horse,’ “Always remember you matter, you’re important and you are loved, and you bring to this world things no one else can.”
