Mental Health IOP for Teens & Adolescents
What is a Teen Mental Health IOP?
A Teen Mental Health Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) provides structured, focused support for teens who need more care than weekly therapy but do not require inpatient treatment. Teens learn practical coping skills, build emotional resilience, and receive support for challenges such as depression, anxiety, trauma, and other mental health concerns.
Is mental health IOP right for your teen?
Every teen’s mental health journey is different. While weekly therapy can be effective for many challenges, some teens may benefit from more frequent support to help them manage symptoms and continue moving forward.
Our clinicians can help you determine the right level of support if your teen is:
- Missing school or withdrawing from daily activities
- Getting worse between therapy sessions
- Experiencing frequent emotional crises
- Isolating from family and friends
- Talking about self-harm or suicide
- Using alcohol or drugs to cope
- Needing more structure and support throughout the week
These signs don’t automatically mean your teen needs an IOP, but they do mean it’s time to reassess the right level of care.
Please note, this is not a substance abuse program.
Adolescent mental health IOP for ages 13+
Our adolescent IOP is currently only offered in Castle Rock, CO and Alamo Heights, TX.
Specifically geared for ages 13-17, our adolescent IOP bridges the gap between weekly therapy and inpatient care. It offers a structured, therapeutic environment that fits into your teen’s schedule, providing intensive support while they continue with school, activities, and home life.
In small, supportive group settings, teens attend sessions for three hours a day, four days a week, over the course of five to six weeks. Each program is age-appropriate and focuses on enhancing emotional well-being, developing healthy coping strategies, and building lasting resilience.
Getting started with mental health IOP
