Mental Health IOP in Alamo Heights and San Antonio

Our mental health intensive outpatient program (IOP) at Family Care Center Alamo Heights offers structured, evidence-based treatment to help adults and teens become emotionally stable and grow as people. Our IOP strikes the right balance between intensive therapy and daily flexibility. This lets participants keep up with their work, school, and home duties while getting the professional care they need.

This program is great for patients 13 and older who:

  • Need more than weekly therapy, but don’t require inpatient hospitalization
  • Have recently completed inpatient or partial hospitalization care
  • Are managing ongoing symptoms of anxiety, depression, or trauma
  • Are motivated to actively participate in group and individual therapy sessions

Through a combination of skills training, group therapy, and psychoeducation, we help individuals build lasting resilience and regain confidence in daily life.

Alamo Heights Adult and Teen IOP Details

Participants attend IOP sessions four days a week for three hours each day over the course of five to six weeks. New participants can join the program on a rolling basis, with admissions occurring weekly.

Our groups are intentionally kept small, with no more than 10 participants, allowing for personalized support and meaningful connection.

Family Care Center offers:

  • Adult IOP for individuals ages 18 and older
  • Teen IOP for adolescents ages 13 to 17

Mental Health IOP is designed to complement existing treatment and can be integrated with individual therapy, medication management, and other mental health services to provide comprehensive, coordinated care.

Teen mental health IOP treatment

Specifically geared for ages 13-17, our teen IOP bridges the gap between weekly therapy and inpatient care. It offers a structured, therapeutic environment that fits into your teen’s schedule, providing intensive support while they continue with school, activities, and home life.

In small, supportive group settings, teens attend sessions for three hours a day, four days a week, over the course of five to six weeks. Each program is age-appropriate and focuses on enhancing emotional well-being, developing healthy coping strategies, and building lasting resilience.
