Serina Torres, LPC, CRC
Located at New Braunfels, TX
Many people reach a point where they know they want things to feel different, but they may feel overwhelmed, uncertain, or unsure of where to start. I believe healing begins with feeling heard, understood, and accepted. I am Serina Torres, LPC, and for over 20 years I have had the privilege of walking alongside children, adolescents, adults, and military families as they navigate life’s challenges and create meaningful change. I understand that reaching out for support can feel difficult. I want you to feel welcomed, and comfortable taking that first step. I specialize in helping individuals and families navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, grief, burnout, stress, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. I also have extensive experience working with military service members, veterans, first responders, caregivers, and those facing the unique demands of high-stress roles. Together, we will develop practical tools to build resilience, restore balance, and help you move forward with confidence and hope.
Finding the right therapist is an important part of the healing process, and I understand how much trust it takes to reach out and begin this journey. I have built my practice on a foundation of compassion, collaboration, and the belief that every person has the ability to grow and create meaningful change. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of supporting individuals and families through some of life’s most challenging moments. Together, we will work at a pace that feels right for you as you move toward the life you want to create.
I have dedicated my career to providing evidence-based, compassionate care to individuals and families across a variety of settings, including community mental health, outpatient clinics, crisis services, military installations around the world, and programs serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. I have also worked extensively with children and adults with learning disabilities.
As a mother of three–including an adult child with special needs whom I care for full-time–I understand firsthand that life doesn’t always go according to plan. I know the emotional, physical, and practical challenges that unexpected life changes, and daily stress can bring. Those experiences have strengthened my compassion and reinforced my belief that no one should have to navigate life’s struggles alone.
Throughout my career, I have supported individuals facing anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, grief and loss, abuse, parenting challenges, school and behavioral concerns, burnout, stress, low self-esteem, and life transitions. I also have extensive experience working with military service members, veterans, and their families as they navigate deployments, PCS moves, reintegration, relationship challenges, demanding training environments, unexpected military crisis situations, and the unique demands of military life. I have also helped individuals navigate challenges related to command-service member relationships, workplace stress, and the complexities of military culture.
In addition to traditional mental health treatment, I have extensive experience helping first responders, healthcare professionals, caregivers, and other high-performing professionals manage the unique emotional and occupational demands of their roles. My work has focused on helping individuals stay calm, present, and focused under pressure while developing the skills needed to perform at their best in high-stress environments. I have supported clients experiencing caregiver fatigue, compassion fatigue, burnout, operational stress, and trauma related to helping others. Together, we work to strengthen emotional regulation, mindfulness, resilience, and confidence while addressing fears that may develop after difficult or traumatic experiences. By combining evidence-based therapeutic approaches with practical, performance-based strategies, I help clients regain balance, reconnect with their strengths, and continue doing the work that matters most to them without sacrificing their own well-being.
My therapeutic approach is collaborative, practical, and individualized. I believe there is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. Together, we will develop a treatment plan tailored to your unique needs, strengths, values, and goals. We will identify unhelpful patterns, build healthy coping skills, strengthen resilience and communication, and develop practical tools you can begin using from your very first session.
My goal is to help you build a personalized “toolbox” that empowers you to navigate life’s challenges with greater confidence and resilience, so you can move beyond feeling overwhelmed or hopeless and regain a sense of balance and control.
It would be an honor to walk alongside you on your journey toward healing and growth. Together, we can work to create a life that feels balanced, meaningful, and fulfilling.
