Meridith is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor™ in both TN and Florida with 20+ years of experience in working with children and families. She utilizes the power of play and other evidence-based approaches to meet each individual’s unique needs. While being a Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor™ is a huge passion of hers, she also loves supporting patients and families across the age span. Meridith is originally from Middle TN and enjoys serving in her hometown community. She has also lived in several Midwest States which expanded her skillsets in serving in small town communities, learning how to shovel snow, and that the Tennessee Titan’s were not the only team!
Meridith obtained her Bachelor’s of Art from Samford University in Human Development and Family Studies and then pursued her Master’s in Science of Social Work from the University of Tennessee (College of Health Science Center in Memphis, TN) and her Specialist in Education (EdS) from the University of Mississippi. She works with ages 4+ in areas such as ADHD, autism, anxiety, depression, stress management techniques, behavioral concerns, family dynamics and parenting supports, trauma and more. Meridith has had a wide skillset ranging from working as a medical social worker/therapist within hospital settings, running her own practice, school based therapies, as well as, community mental health. She enjoys integrating play therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and dialectical behavior therapies into her sessions to provide patients a tailored approach.
She and her husband have one college aged son and three Australian Shepherds. Her hobbies include Peloton Fitness, her flower gardens, traveling, attending continuing education conferences to further her knowledge, and participating on several advisory boards to give back to her community. Meridith is grateful for her patients and families who place their trust in her care, and she strives to meet everyone where they are at in order to support their mental wellness goals.
