Laura Shapiro, LCSW
Located at Sloan's Lake, CO
I try to create a safe container for my clients big enough to contain all parts of you and your life experiences. You can anticipate that I will hold all of your thoughts and feelings with humor, compassion, and awareness with the hope that you can develop that internal sense of self compassion as well. I specialized in working with trauma, depression, anxiety, grief and other life stressors and changes
I am a rare Colorado native and got my master’s in social work from University of Denver. I believe my role as your therapist is to bear witness to you and your life experiences- inside and out. I use a variety of modalities including EMDR, mindfulness, IFS, and somatic awareness to support you in moving through the challenging moments. In the last 10 years I have worked with teens and adults through periods of trauma, and PTSD, depression, grief and anxiety. I have found that when we can meet our own experiences with curiosity and kindness, there can be space for our patterns to change. It would be my honor to work with you wherever you are in your life.
