Angela Bear, MAMFT, LPC, believes that early childhood support can change a families path. She focuses on helping little ones (ages 0-5) and their primary caregivers (parents, guardians, daycare providers, foster parents etc) navigate stress and trauma through a relationship centered approach call Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP). Angela brings and open mind and a collaborative spirit to therapy, ensuring that LGBTQIA2S+ and BIPOC families and individuals feel deeply heard, respected and vsalued for exactly who they are.
Angela earned her Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy (MAMFT) from Regis University. She also has a Bachelor of Arts in History and taught secondary students in public school and the division of youth corrections. Angela is a Licensed Professional Counselor, who has been practicing since 2018, and has experience in rural mental health. Other areas of specialty, areas of continuing education focus, superised experienceand ongoing training include: an endorsement of Infant Mental Health Specialist through the Nebraska Association for Infant Mental Health, gender affirming care including WPATH competency and experience as well as cultural humility and competency as previously mentioned. I also have experienced working with Borderline Personality Disorder, Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Depression, Anxiety, grief, trauma, substance abuse prevention counseling. The modalities I use include CPP, Dialetical Behavioral Therapy, Exposure Response Prevention Therapy, Attachment Theory, play therapy and family/individual therapy.
