“Knowing oneself comes from attending with compassionate curiosity to what is happening within.” – Gabor Mate. My goal as a therapist is to walk alongside you as you move toward your authentic self. This “waking up” process- the ability to feel deeply and genuinely express the feelings that make you authentic- is what brings people together in true relationships. Together, we can explore what experiences in your life may be keeping you stuck in the past, thus limiting your ability to experience present-day beauty and joy. My goal is to help you find the tools to honestly express your feelings so that you can feel the delight of being fully alive.
As your therapist, I am here to walk beside you on your journey toward your truest, most authentic self. I believe that true human connection happens when we “wake up” to our deepest feelings and learn to express them honestly. Too often, the weight of the past keeps us stuck, casting a shadow over our current lives and limiting our ability to experience present-day beauty and joy. Together, we will gently explore the old patterns, wounds, or beliefs that may be holding you back, freeing you to live fully in the here and now. My ultimate aim is to equip you with the practical and emotional tools needed to share your feelings authentically, allowing you to experience the vibrant delight of being fully alive.
To support you in this transformative process, I bring a solid foundation of professional expertise and a deeply compassionate approach. I earned both my Master of Science (M.S.) and Specialist in Education (Ed.S.) degrees in Counseling from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2006. As a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Mental Health Service Provider designation (LPC-MHSP), I work with adults of all ages. I specialize in helping individuals who are seeking support with symptoms of trauma, anxiety, depression, and the complex waves of grief and loss.
I understand that true healing requires a foundation of trust. My warm, engaging, and empathetic personality allows me to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you can feel genuinely seen and heard. I meet you exactly where you are on your path, tailored to your unique comfort level. In our sessions, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) alongside a range of other clinical approaches. Depending on your needs, we may integrate Emotionally-Focused Therapy (EFT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Psychodrama, or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Together, we will build a path forward that honors your story and unlocks your capacity for joy.
