Our team is here to help you explore the connection between mental health and holistic wellness.

We recommend these five practical tips to help you thrive during transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) treatment.

Step One: Maintain a Healthy Diet

Balanced, healthy eating can boost mental well-being and help combat depression. When you minimize processed food and sugar, you’re supporting your brain health and energy levels.

Step Two: Get Good Sleep

Establishing a consistent sleep routine can play a crucial role in both preventing and managing depression. Aim for 7-9 hours of quality sleep per night and keep any daytime naps 20-30 minutes.

Step Three: Stay Active

Moderate activity can release endorphins, which have a mood-boosting effect. Start small when exercising and try to gradually build up to 30 minutes a day. If you choose activities you enjoy, it feels less like work!

Step Four: Reduce Stress

Stress reduction can contribute to a more balanced lifestyle, promoting mental and emotional resilience. Try yoga, meditation, or purchase a light box, which can help the light to balance your serotonin levels.

Step Five: Keep Up With Your Treatment Plan

Combining TMS with therapy and/or medication can lead to longer-lasting improvements in depressive symptoms. So, it’s essential you continue to see your therapist regularly and take your prescription medications as prescribed. If you don’t have a therapist, let us know, and we’d be happy to connect you with one.
