Peggy Johnson, LPC-MHSP

Clinic Director - Clinical Therapist

I am passionate about helping people heal from the pain of their past, cultivate happiness and peace in present, and find hope for the future. I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental, collaborative relationship and am interested in how the past influences our present.

I believe our bodies store memories of our experiences, even if our minds forget them, and that our bodies possess the infinite wisdom to heal us. As a therapist, I believe my role is to guide clients toward the answers that exist within them, and I approach my work from a mind-body-spirit perspective, as all are connected. I have been trained in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, which is a blend of cognitive approaches, verbal dialogue, and physical interventions for the treatment of trauma and attachment. I focus on how the body interpreted the experience(s) and how that has affected our beliefs about ourselves and the world around us, as well as its effects on our emotions and behaviors. I specialize in Complex Trauma, also known as Complex PTSD, and have extensive experience working with survivors of child abuse and sexual trauma, as well as military, law enforcement, firefighters/EMTs, doctors, and nurses.
