MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Family Care Center is excited to announce the newest addition to our Murfreesboro, TN clinic, Soniya Marwaha, MD, MPH, a board-certified psychiatrist with extensive training in treating children, adolescents and adults. Dr. Marwaha brings a wealth of experience in evidence-based psychiatric treatments, helping individuals overcome life’s challenges and build resilience.
Dr. Marwaha received her medical training from the University of Seychelles American Institute of Medicine and graduated from Western Kentucky University. She went on to join the Creighton/ University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) combined psychiatry residency training program. After the first two years, Dr. Marwaha fast-tracked into a Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (CAP) fellowship program at One Brooklyn Health/ Brookdale Hospital Medical Center in New York. She completed her last year of adult psychiatry training in the same program and spent an additional year of fellowship training at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in Psychosomatic medicine/ CL Psychiatry.
With a holistic, patient-centered approach to care, Dr. Marwaha utilizes the bio-psycho-social model, which is a framework that considers the interconnectedness of biological, psychological and social factors to understand health and disease. Her commitment to tailoring comprehensive treatment plans ensures that each individual receives personalized care to achieve a renewed sense of purpose, clarity and confidence.

Dr. Marwaha is currently accepting new patients for children, adolescent and adult psychiatric services, including but not limited to:
- Treatment of depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, psychotic spectrum disorders, ADHD, PTSD and other mental health conditions
- Assessing and diagnosing mental health and psychiatric disorders
- Prescribing and managing medication as needed
