Dr. Kartiki Churi Elected as a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association

DENVER (May 20, 2024) – Family Care Center proudly announces that Dr. Kartiki Churi has been elected as a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association (APA), a prestigious designation recognizing her dedication to the profession and the ongoing work of the Association. 

Fellowship is an honorary title bestowed upon APA members who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to the field of psychiatry and the mission of the APA. Dr. Churi’s selection as a Fellow reflects her unwavering allegiance to her profession and her significant contributions to advancing the goals of the Association. 

“My profession as a psychiatrist allows me to provide care to some of the most vulnerable populations in our nation,” said Dr. Churi. “I consider it my responsibility to deliver high-quality mental health care and be a strong advocate for my patients and peers. I accomplish this by engaging in various programs, committees and other venues provided by the APA and its local district branch, the Colorado Psychiatric Society (CPS).”  

As a Fellow, Dr. Churi is distinguished as a member of a select group within the APA, recognized by her colleagues for her outstanding dedication and achievements. “My election as a Fellow of the APA is both a privilege and an honor,” she said. “More importantly, it provides a platform for me to elevate my profession and amplify my voice for my patients to the next level.” 

Fellowship applications undergo rigorous review and comment from the member’s district branch/state association, followed by approval by the APA Membership Committee and Board of Trustees. Dr. Churi’s Fellowship underscores the recognition and support of her peers and the APA leadership for her significant contributions to psychiatry.

Dr. Kartiki Churi’s work with TMS for treatment-resistant depression

Dr. Churi is the Vice President of Family Care Center’s Psychiatry Service Line and practices evidence-based treatment for various mental health illnesses. She is most passionate about helping patients overcome depression that has not responded to one or more treatment attempts. That passion inspired her to support treatment-resistant patients with transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), a non-invasive, highly effective treatment for depression, OCD and more. Dr. Churi uses TMS with therapy and medications, utilizing Family Care Center’s integrated bio-psycho-social-spiritual model.
