Denise Garcia & Cheyanna’s Champions 4 Children

This month, we’re excited to introduce a new face at our Round Rock, TX, clinic: Denise Garcia, PMHNP. Since April 2025, Denise has brought warmth, compassion, and a deep sense of purpose to her work with patients.

One Roof, One Mission: What Makes Family Care Center Different

Denise provides psychiatric evaluations for medication management to patients across the lifespan. “I really enjoy getting to know my patients. They are motivated to engage in treatment, really listen and trust the process,” she says. “That’s when you know you’re making a difference.”

What drew her to Family Care Center? Our integrated approach to mental healthcare is a difference maker. “I love that we have in-house therapy,” she says. “It removes so many barriers. Patients don’t have to deal with outside referrals or insurance hassles. They can get therapy and med management under one roof—and we’re here to help them take that first step.”

Having worked in various healthcare environments, Denise says Family Care Center stands apart. “This place truly cares about patients and employees,” she says. “I get time to focus on what matters most: my patients and my family. That kind of support helps me become a better provider.”

A Circle of Support: Family, Community, and the Power of Shared Experience

Beyond her professional role, Denise is also a dedicated mother to two young children. Her oldest is Anthony. He is 7 years old and has an undiagnosed genetic condition. The journey has been emotional and complex, but it’s also shaped Denise’s perspective in profound ways. Learning to navigate life in this unknown territory has deepened her empathy, strengthened her resilience, and fueled her passion for supporting other families facing similar uncertainty. It has also sharpened her perspective and fueled her drive to stand beside families in their most challenging moments.

Over the past two years, she’s found strength in Cheyanna’s Champions 4 Children (CC4C), a nonprofit that supports families with children who have rare or undiagnosed medical conditions.

Through one of CC4C’s programs, the “Tribe for Moms,” Denise joins monthly meetups where moms connect, create, and share support. Whether making flower arrangements or having dinner together, the community is a lifeline.

“It’s a space where people truly understand,” she said. “That kind of connection is rare and powerful.”

Another CC4C program is the “Spotlight Child,” and this program provides a child and their family support and resources for two years. The child gets connected to a “Dream Team” that will love and support them. Anthony will be a Spotlight Child starting in August.

How Family Care Center is Supporting CC4C

Inspired by Denise’s story and the mission of CC4C, our Round Rock team recently came together to create handmade birthday cards for children supported by the organization. Each card was filled with encouragement, color, and care—small but meaningful reminders that these children are seen, celebrated, and supported. It’s one way we’re extending our commitment to healing beyond the clinic walls and into the community.
