No matter what mental health environment I work in, I believe the therapeutic relationship is the key to the therapeutic process, therefore I use a variety of different modalities and techniques to meet each individuals needs. I have many years of experience providing therapy and have worked in many areas of mental health from non-profits to an acute mental health hospital. I am passionate and experienced working with children, adolescents, adults, and parents. I am also trained in EMDR, TBRI, and sandtray therapy. I enjoy using expressive modalities in addition to talk and play in therapy. I provide treatment in a variety of areas to include: attachment issues, grief and loss, parenting, PTSD, trauma, anxiety, at-risk youth, active-duty military and veterans, and families.

When working with children and adolescents, I believe that family involvement is necessary for a child’s success in therapy. My overall goal is for my clients to feel they can be themselves and provide a therapeutic environment that is safe, warm, welcoming, and strengths-based.

A client is at a action stage of change or contemplating change. At the beginning of each session I inform the client of confidentiality, and they confirm understanding their rights. I provide a thorough intake and gather all the necessary information to
develop a foundation for treatment. I provide a safe and nurturing setting for the client to begin to bond with me, and begin to work on identified problems we identify together. A treatment plan is established the client signs and agrees to follow.
