Meet the Providers
My heart reaches out to you as you search to make the best decision for yourself, your spouse, your child and others. Like you, so many are facing similar concerns related to marital issues, various forms of depression, anxiety, grief, anger, trauma, adjustment issues, self esteem and more. While I know that this only skims the surface, wherever you fall, it is my honor and privilege to work with you. In my practice I look at more than just the presenting problem, but also at many factors that support it. However we process your concerns, I hope that each person finds my office to be a safe haven to grow and to be heard.
Therapy is a commitment to self. It is not always easy, but self-exploration takes you on a journey filled with peaks and valleys. You may not be able to always see the beauty in the journey, but you’ll learn to navigate it and appreciate it.
Taking the first step to seeking out therapy can be overwhelming, but I firmly believe that it’s worth it. My number one goal as a therapist is working collaboratively with my clients to help them pursue their goals for therapy. I have been told that I have a direct style of therapy which, I’m sure, is a byproduct of working with active duty and veterans for over 10 years. I use my experience in a multitude of therapies to create an individualized best needs each client’s needs.
I believes in therapy because I have experienced the healing power of this work in my own life. I am a Person-Centered Therapist which means I place a high value on you as an individual and how your experiences have shaped you. Under the right therapeutic conditions, I believe you can heal from even the deepest wounds and thrive. I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral interventions at times to strengthen coping skills and resiliency factors, encourage Sandtray therapy to aid in anxiety, depression, and trauma processing, and also facilitate expressive arts alongside talk therapy. In our work together, I hold a space to celebrate your successes, to grieve your losses, and for everything in between. Let’s get started together.
As a provider who has also spent time on the therapeutic couch, I want my patients to understand there are opportunities for hope and wellness and avoid making permanent decisions for temporary problems. I love working with my patients on rediscovering themselves and who they can become. The journey of self-discovery is
the best road traveled. Working with me means working together as a team toward your overall health and well-being. There may be tough moments of introspection during treatment, yet I will be right there along the way. Be encouraged because those tough moments have the opportunity to produce some of the most impactful
rewards of mental stability long term.
I have a casual approach to therapy and believe therapy should feel like a natural conversation. I tend to use humor on occasion during therapy.
I am here to help you. I am here to support and guide you. If you are willing to work then I am willing to work. I will challenge you to think critically. I will challenge you to question and to try new things. I will encourage you but I will not coddle you. I fully believe that people can grow and change when they use their mind, body, and spirit. I want to help you meet your life goals and support you has you navigate the daily challenges of life. Life is beautiful and worthwhile but most definitely difficult at times. Life is better together, especially when supported by one another.
