Meet the Lowry Clinic Providers

My favorite saying is from the late Great Maya Angelou (who was also one of my professors at Wake Forest)… I have learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you mad them feel.
To prospective clients: I applaud you for taking the first step. Because of your bravery, I will take the second step to hear and see you. We can then work together to make you the best version of yourself that you want to be.

I believe treatment is a collaborative effort. When we decide on treatment, I will always offer options and explain the pros and cons of each treatment plan. I will always take time to answer questions and explain the reasoning behind my recommendations. Education on the diagnosis and what to expect over the course of treatment will also be an important component of our treatment.

Your story matters and you have struggles that are unique to you. It takes courage and strength to admit that there may be things that you struggle with that you need help to understand and work on, in order to move forward and make changes to improve your life. We will collaborate and work together in a nonjudgmental, supportive, and kind manner.

Stigma and shame are common barriers to getting help. Throughout my career, I have seen and heard it all, and I’m here to listen to your story and help you move forward towards your goals. I believe in a nonjudgmental and strengths-based approach, as well as collaborative goal-setting.

Seeking support can be challenging, and I’m here to help you or your loved one navigate this difficult road. I am collaborative, curious, humorous, and direct in my approach.
I believe that therapy is most beneficial when we work together, and I will support you in identifying and uncovering your own strengths to help navigate life’s difficulties. I look forward to seeing if we are a good fit and helping you take this next step in investing in yourself.

I have over 17 years professional work experience helping clients with a variety of presenting problems including: Relationship Issues, Family Conflict, Parenting Issues, Motivation, Self-Esteem and Finances.
I work with clients in a safe environment where thoughts and feelings are shared openly and optimism is the norm. You taking the next step in your mental health is a sign of courage and honesty. I am here to support in the process!

Everyone is uniquely different and every therapeutic relationship is just as unique. Though asking for help can feel exposing and scary, it’s a singular act of hope and strength. As such, it’s both my job and privilege to sit alongside you and earn your trust in this process. Together we’ll start right where you are; and if you feel like I can help you, we’ll take it moment by moment, session by session.

My approach to therapy is respectful, nonjudgmental, individualized, and collaborative. Together, the client and I work in the short-term to address symptoms that may be impacting their ability to function emotionally, interpersonally, cognitively, academically, and/or occupationally.
I love doing therapy, but doing my best work requires a degree of self-care so in my free time I enjoy the outdoors, time with family and friends, the arts, and spending time with my dog, Buzz.

Come as you are. I foster a safe environment where people are free to discuss what’s on their mind without pretense or judgment. My work with clients is centered on acceptance and empowerment. My career, so far, has exposed me to a large spectrum of grief and loss, and the intimate ways it touches our lives for better or worse. I am incredibly passionate about honoring memories, creating new meaning, and helping you move forward in a way that supports your most authentic self.

My job is to hear people at their most vulnerable and provide a safe, non-judgmental space for them. I know that talking about sex and relationships can be hard, so I create a safe space to explore and discover an important part of you! For individuals, this can mean coming to terms with shame or insecurity. For people in relationships, this can mean better understanding their partners.

Everyone deserves a safe, objective space to process their emotions and experiences. I encourage seeking and allowing compassion for oneself, and appreciate you taking the first step in that process. My work is focused on creating the relationship in which feelings can be shared fluidly, where the space itself that we have created together fosters the communication and honesty that will be the foundation of the work that will follow. All is welcome, there is no judgement and no criticism. It’s an honor to support you on this journey.
