Meet the Providers
As a strengths-based clinician, I look to help individuals, families, and couples identify and build upon strengths they already possess. Rather than staying problem focused, I hope to help clients focus on solutions to their identified problems ultimately resulting in a decline in symptoms experienced and an overall greater satisfaction with relationships and life in general.
I first became licensed as both an LPC and LMFT in Louisiana in 2014. At this point, I started working primarily with children and some adults. In 2017, I received my licenses in Colorado. I enjoy working with clients of all ages, but feel like I tend to connect well with female clients presented with depression or anxiety. As an MFT, I also love working with families. My past work experiences include inpatient substance abuse treatment, outpatient geriatric IOP, inpatient adolescent facilities, private practice, and community-based mental health rehabilitation services.
As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I have a great respect and enjoyment for working with others in my community. I believe that my own experiences and empathy assist me in being a helpful therapist for members of this population.
My goal is to restore patients to their optimal psychological wellbeing by building a strong provider-patient relationship. Through shared decision-making processes, I aim to provide optimal patient-centered care.
My priority as a provider is to ensure that each patient receives superior health care. Our goal, together, is to see you thrive. It’s important that we build a plan together that you understand and with which you are comfortable.
My approach to therapy is respectful, nonjudgmental, individualized, and collaborative. Together, the client and I work in the short-term to address symptoms that may be impacting their ability to function emotionally, interpersonally, cognitively, academically, and/or occupationally. I love doing therapy, but doing my best work requires a degree of self-care so in my free time I enjoy the outdoors, time with family and friends, the arts, and spending time with my dog, Buzz.
The most important aspect of therapy is the relationship between therapist and client. Insight and change can only be achieved when a therapist is able to ‘meet clients where they are at. My style is client-centered, experiential, and most importantly, nonjudgmental. I pride myself on my ability to develop meaningful, catalytic relationships with my clients, and create an engaging safe space for all.
Healthcare management is truly my passion. I have managed medical centers specializing in everything from alternative pain management to family medicine. My undergraduate education is in Healthcare Administration, and I am currently a graduate student at Johns Hopkins studying Medical Management.
Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) is a technological breakthrough in the treatment of Major Depression. Family Care Center is proud to be the largest TMS providers.
I take a very collaborative approach with the clients and families I have the pleasure of working with as they are the experts of their own experiences. My goal is to assist the client in identifying how to best meet their own social emotional needs as well as determine what is already working to build upon that existing foundation with the shared objective of improved quality of life and enhanced opportunity to thrive.
I have been fascinated by psychiatry since a young age, as my grandfather is a retired psychiatrist, and I believe this fascination has allowed me to develop a desire of giving my patients the best mental health care possible. I believe a strong provider-patient relationship is pivotal to successful outcomes, and is built on compassionate, open communication. My goal is for us to work together to collaborate in creating the best course of treatment for you. I want to help set you up for success to improve your overall quality of life.
I believe that therapy is a powerful tool for healing and growth. I am committed to building a safe and open space that encourages people to show up fully and authentically. My genuine curiosity, direct feedback, and desire to uplift individuals’ inherent strengths guide my practice. I am a fierce champion for my clients, working collaboratively to address anxiety and depression, unresolved trauma, barriers to sex and intimacy, and significant life transitions.
It is so cheesy to say, but I really went into mental health to help people, to be able to supply the tools as well as walk through life with you. It is so brave to be vulnerable and ask for help, so for you even being here on this page, I applaud you, seriously! If you do schedule an appointment, regardless of if it is with me or another provider, I wish you all the best on your journey!
Whether you are just beginning to take your own first, tentative steps on this road, banding together as a family to begin this journey, or you've been wandering this road for years and are still feeling lost, you are doing to the right thing by reaching out for help. I can help you gain the tools to need to respond to your challenges in your day-to-day life, learn to treat yourself with compassion rather than harshness, build or regain your sense of self, and move closer to the kind of life you want to live. I promise to offer you a safe space to explore what you are looking for.
A highly respected taekwondo grand master would tell prospective students "To begin is half the effort." Just walking into a psychiatrist's office is challenging, but I welcome all who are interested to meet with me. Together, we can find what your needs and desires are and if/how we might be able to help in achieving them.
